A title is a promise
Strong titles communicate an outcome while leaving one meaningful question unanswered. The gap creates curiosity; the promise earns trust.
Avoid treating virality as a collection of magic words. Viewers click when the topic matters to them and the framing feels specific.
Three reliable ingredients
Most compelling titles combine at least two of the following:
- A concrete result
- An unexpected contrast
- A clear audience or constraint
Test the title with the thumbnail
The title and thumbnail should create one idea together. If they repeat each other, one of them is wasting valuable space. Let the title explain and the thumbnail intensify.
